TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: July 2026
1. ABOUT THESE TERMS
Welcome to The Junior Outfitters Co. UK (“we”, “us”, “our”). We operate this Shopify-powered store selling children’s clothing, uniforms and school accessories.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your purchase of products from us. They form a legally binding contract between you and The Junior Outfitters Co. UK.
Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. They set out your legal rights and responsibilities, including important information about your right to cancel and our liability to you.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. We explain these rights where relevant.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use or access our Services.
2. INFORMATION ABOUT US
The Junior Outfitters Co. UK is a business registered in [England/Wales/Scotland].
Contact us:
- Email: sales@thejunioroutfitters.co.uk
- Shopify Chat: Via the live chat button on our site
3. YOUR STATUS
By placing an order through our store, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old (or have a parent or guardian’s permission to use the Services and make purchases); and
- You are buying for personal or household use, not for commercial resale or export.
4. OUR PRODUCTS
We make every effort to display our products accurately, including colours and details. However, colours and appearance may vary depending on your device screen and settings. These variations do not constitute a defect.
All product descriptions, images and pricing are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time and to limit quantities sold.
Ex-Stock Items – What You Need to Know
Our items are brand new ex-stock (overstock and returned stock from major retailers). They are unworn, unused, and in perfect condition, but they may show certain visual markers standard in the ex-stock industry:
- Brand tag markings: Brand tags may be cut, snipped, or blacked out with permanent marker. This is done to comply with agreements with original retailers and does not affect the garment’s wearability, fit, or quality.
- Packaging: Items may arrive in plain poly bags or unbranded packaging rather than original retail boxes. This is normal and reflects the overstock nature of the stock.
Returns or exchanges will not be accepted on the basis of cut, snipped, or blacked-out brand tags or labels. These markings are cosmetic only.
Your Key Rights Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Every product you buy from us must be:
- Of satisfactory quality — meeting the standard a reasonable person would consider satisfactory, taking into account the description, price and any other relevant circumstances;
- Fit for purpose — fit for the purpose for which products of that kind are commonly supplied, and fit for any specific purpose you made known to us and which we accepted;
- As described — matching any description given to you on our website or elsewhere.
If any product fails to meet these requirements, you are entitled to remedies including repair, replacement or a refund. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
5. ORDERS AND CONTRACT FORMATION
Placing an order: When you place an order through our store, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket. Please review your order carefully before submitting.
Order acknowledgement: After placing your order, you will receive an automated email acknowledging receipt. This does not mean your order has been accepted.
Contract formation: A legally binding contract between us is formed only when we send you a second email confirming that your order has been accepted and dispatched (the “Order Confirmation”).
Our right to refuse or cancel: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order for any legitimate reason, including if the product is unavailable, if we suspect fraud, or if there is an error in pricing or product description. If we cancel, we will notify you and refund any amounts paid within 14 days.
6. PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices: All prices are in pounds sterling (£). UK children’s clothing is zero-rated for VAT up to age 13, so VAT is not applicable on eligible items unless otherwise stated. Prices do not include delivery charges, which will be shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
Price changes: We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders for which we have already sent an Order Confirmation.
Errors: If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to an error, we are under no obligation to supply it at that price. We will inform you and give you the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel.
Payment: Payment is due at the time of placing your order. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. You confirm that your payment details are correct and that you are authorised to use them.
Promotions and discounts: Promotional codes and discounts are subject to their own terms. If there is any conflict, the promotion terms will prevail.

8. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL AND REFUNDS
Cancellation Before Dispatch
You can cancel your order within 15 minutes of placing it, provided the order has not yet been fulfilled (packed and dispatched). After 15 minutes, or once the order is fulfilled, cancellation is no longer available — please follow the returns process below.
To cancel, log into your account or contact us as soon as possible with your order number.
Statutory Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the products, without giving any reason.
To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g., email). We will provide a model cancellation form on request.
If you cancel within the cooling-off period, we will refund all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery, no later than 14 days after we receive the returned products (or, if earlier, 14 days after you provide evidence of having returned them).
You must return the products to us within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation. Return shipping is free — we’ll provide a returns label. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Exceptions to the Right to Cancel
The right to cancel does not apply to:
- Underwear, socks, tights and swimwear — for hygiene reasons, once the hygiene seal has been removed
- Final Sale / Clearance items (typically 50%+ off)
- Ex-stock items where the reason for return relates to cut, snipped or blacked-out brand tags (cosmetic markings only)
Faulty or Incorrect Items
If you receive an item that is faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us immediately. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a full refund, exchange or replacement, and we will cover reasonable return postage costs.
9. RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Return Window
You have 30 days from delivery to return most items for a full refund.
Condition of Returns
Items must be:
- Unworn, unused, and in re-sellable condition
- In their original packaging (poly bags, packaging, tags where still attached)
Return Shipping
Return shipping is free for eligible returns. We’ll provide a returns label once your return is confirmed.
Restocking Fees
We do not charge a restocking fee.
Exchanges
Exchanges are available within 30 days of delivery on most items, subject to stock availability. We’ll send you a free return shipping label for the item you’d like to exchange. Once we receive the item back, we’ll dispatch the replacement size at no additional shipping cost. If the replacement item is a different price, we’ll adjust the difference accordingly.
