👟 How to Measure Feet (for Shoes)
Getting shoe size right is important — and kids’ feet grow faster than you’d think (roughly a size every few months in younger children!).
Steps:
Put a piece of paper on the floor against a wall, and tape it down so it doesn’t move.
Have your child stand on the paper with their heel against the wall — standing with their weight on the foot gives a true measurement (sitting gives a smaller, inaccurate size).children's size guide UK
Make sure they’re sockless.
Mark the longest toe — this isn’t always the big toe!
Measure the distance from the edge of the paper (the wall/heel line) to the toe mark.
Size tip: Compare the measurement in cm to our shoe size chart (above), and aim for about a thumb’s width (1cm) of growing room at the toe.
